In 2016 Right Homes continued in their commitment to environmental construction, innovation and design and was extremely successful in the following awards:
2016 Master Builders (MBA) Housing Excellence Awards
Winning Category: Most Liveable Home
This beautiful family home incorporated water and energy saving features, as well as innovative design principles to accommodate the needs of a growing family. Right Homes utilised a rare collection of composite materials, including recycled bricks, timber and exterior and interior finishes such as reverse brick veneer and exposed steel lintels to make this home both comfortable and affordable to live in. The home has achieved a high energy rating (8 stars BERS) and is an open plan design with good ventilation, thermal mass and insulation.

Right Homes teamed up for a second time with the founders of the GreenSwing and completed construction of another exciting sustainable project in the suburb of Lathlain. This project on Rutland Avenue, called “The Siding”, consists of three blocks, incorporating two town houses and five apartments on a 1010 m2 block, and is within walking distance to the train station, schools and shops. The goal was to create a project with a range of sustainable features that would generate a community eco-friendly environment.
All apartments were designed to make the most of the sun’s energy in the winter and to use shading, proper ventilation and thermal mass to dispense with air-conditioning in the summer. The design has resulted in very high energy ratings, ranging from 9 – 10 stars!
Right Homes has also been successful in the 2016 HIA Greensmart Awards both at State (WA) and National (Australian) level for this development in Lathlain.
